Thrift Store Fashion for the Fourth

Unlike last year, I'm not playing host this 4th of July, so my thrifting focus lately has been on fashion. This post is inspired by Lindsay Turner at Thrift & Shout. She always finds the cutest and trendiest clothes at the thrift store, so I had to show off a few of mine.

First up, a halter dress I've had for about a year, snagged for $8 at Goodwill. It may be hard to see, but the pattern is small red dots on white. I love the vintage pin-up silhouette of this dress.

Next, I found this skirt at my favorite vintage store of all time: Held Over in Haight Ashbury in San Francisco. I've been going there since high school, and I've never left empty handed. While it's true that vintage stores are not as cheap as thrift stores, you can still find a deal if you know where to go. This skirt looks to me like it's about 30-40 years old and it's in perfect condition, so I consider it a deal at $26. The stripes also remind me of the chevron patterns that are so popular.

I found the perfect chambray blouse for $12 at Buffalo Exchange in Haight Ashbury. It will be great in case I get chilly while watching fireworks after nightfall.

Finally, I found a great high-low polka dot skirt at Buffalo Exchange for $10. I paired it with a red top I'd found at Goodwill a few years ago for a few dollars. The white leather belt is a hand-me-down from my mother.

My shoes are from either Payless or Ross. All my jewelry is homemade from years past.

Of course, now I have three outfits and only one day to wear them. Which outfit is a penny-pinching patriot to choose?
